Bruce Thew | Chairman

Bruce has over 20 years’ experience building and managing outsourcing businesses internationally. Bruce began his career at PCL Plc rising to the level of Group Managing Director within 12 years. Between 1997 and 2005, Bruce held senior management roles at Ceridian Group. Bruce serves as Chairman of Active Non-Executive Services, Chairman of Safeguard World International, Chairman of JustAccounts Ltd, Chairman of The Oxford Literary Festival and Chairman of Iconic Programmes Ltd. Bruce was a Non-Executive Director at Bridgepoint/NES group from 2005 to 2006.

Andrew Armitage | Chief Executive Officer

Andrew Armitage joined Liaison in 1994 as a VAT Advisor and became Managing Director in 2008, following on to become CEO in 2019. Andrew has been instrumental in expanding our services to include forensic cost reduction services in 2009 and STAFFflow in 2011. He continues to oversee the roll out of Liaison’s Workforce services and partnerships and works with our clients to improve the UK healthcare economy, whilst spearheading the deployment of the Liaison Group services globally.

Judith Shaw | Managing Director, Liaison Workforce

Judith joined Liaison in 2012 and is now responsible for the Liaison Workforce business, looking after the development of the workforce advisory services, and overseeing the award-winning support and client services team across the UK. Her extensive experience of implementing HR and payroll solutions in both private and public sectors, her experience and knowledge of the healthcare industry is unparalleled.  Working with an experienced national network of workforce advisors, Judith oversees the development of workforce advisory services and use of Liaison Group NHS data warehousing to create efficiencies within the healthcare sector.

Alison Jones | Managing Director, Liaison Financial and Care

A long-standing employee, Alison joined in January 1995 as a VAT Advisor advising trusts on a wide variety of tax issues as well as carrying out compliance reviews and training courses.  From 2008 Alison led the VAT division and was instrumental in continually growing the NHS VAT business and expanding other financial saving services as a specialist to the NHS. With a career in the financial sector including experience in management accounting, debt control and fraud analysis Alison is well placed, with her trusted team, to develop and deliver solutions to help the healthcare economy.

Alison is now responsible for the Liaison Financial business, overseeing and managing our unrivalled UK wide team of specialist VAT advisors and forensic saving consultants as well as driving the development of new financial services and new Liaison Care business.

 

Heidi Lopez | Service Strategy Director

Heidi joined Liaison in 2014 from Ceridian, where she spent 18 years in a range of strategic planning and senior business analyst roles. At Liaison, Heidi leads on identifying opportunities for new product development and on directing the growth of Liaison’s increasing healthcare services portfolio. She also manages Liaison’s strategic planning activities across the business. She and her team were instrumental in the development of Liaison’s annual Taking the Temperature report into NHS agency staff spending, the results of which are cited by NHS leaders and regularly featured in the health sector press.

Vanessa Forster | Investments and Partnerships Director 

Vanessa joined Liaison in 2011 and is responsible for Liaison Group’s investments and partnerships strategy. She has been instrumental in expanding Liaison’s healthcare offering and helped the NHS to change the way they look at temporary workers by leading agency sourced employment into trusts and health boards. It is this unrivalled access and penetration of the NHS that is enabling Vanessa to identify opportunities for joint ventures that benefit the healthcare economy and add value to our business.  Prior to Liaison, Vanessa worked in a number of sales and marketing roles in the recruitment and managed service sector with Randstad helping to re-engineer the way workforces were structured.

Andrew Holden | Group Healthcare Advisor

Andrew has over 30 years’ experience in NHS finance and worked in finance director roles at leading NHS trusts for the last ten years. Before joining Liaison, Andrew was director of finance and investment at Barts and The London NHS Trust. Prior to this role he was finance director at St Mary’s NHS Trust for just under six years. Andrew has been the chairman of the HFMA’s (Healthcare Financial Managers’ Association) London branch, which has 400 members, since 2008.  Andrew is currently a non executive director at Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust.

Matthew Willman

Matthew Willman | Chief Technology Officer

Matthew joined Liaison in 2011 heading up our emerging Forensics division.  He then moved to lead our development and enhancement on our market leading TempRE application.  Matthew now leads Liaison Group’s technology development requirements and strategy which involves applying artificial intelligence to support the effective delivery of our innovative workforce and financial services. Matthew has a deep understanding of the healthcare sector and significant experience and knowledge of its current and future technologies as well as being surrounded by a highly skilled and able team.
